Title: Hantarex Polo 33"
Post by: Larry on August 04, 2013, 11:13:38 am
I hate these. Originally, no pic. Power supply dead. I'm working on this chassis on my bench with the deflection coils removed. Replaced several caps in the power supply and now it runs. Secondary voltages off the power supply are present except B+ is way too high cause the HOT is not running. When I jumper pin 3 and 4 on the deflection coil connector, power supply ticks. If I unsolder pin 1 on the flyback, ticking stops. The HOT is not shorted, D134, D135 are not shorted. Where do I go from here?

its probably the flyback itself, desolder pin 3 of the flyback and add a mains lightbulb from the track of pin 3 to ground so you produce a dummy load
meter the b+ and i think it should be around 145vdc
sounds like you have checked the hot for shorts already,if it is short then check some of the high voltage poly caps in the horizontal output stage

good chance it is the flyback though

btw is it polo 1 or polo 2?
