Time for my annual derp-cade that i will likely screw up, never finish and/or throw away. ;D
So i have a few laptops here and was thinking about making a mini cocktail cabinet similar to the one below. I've searched around but unfortunately couldn't find any plans like these. Does anyone know if there are any freely available ones online?

Here (http://issuu.com/samseide/docs/mini_cocktail_plans_final) is what I could find. Nothing solid yet. But you could almost use these as a template and size them to your laptop screen...

^^ I knew i had seen those plans before somewhere. Thanks! :)

How about Joel's Little Ms. Pac-Man (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,128666.msg1315226.html#msg1315226)?

thought of it but i was looking for something a bit more classical looking. It is a great project though :)

Heres the one I designed, It's pretty compact for a cocktail cabinet as it is used as my coffee table but has replacable legs to change the height if needed.
Can let you have sketchup plans If you like

I have seen what you are talking about in person and, well, you really don't want that.

I actually made two side panels for a mini centri track and field cocktail. Unfortunately i only have a jiggsaw here and it came out quite crooked. I'm in way over my head again so i won't be working on it any more.

BleedingFingers - do you think I could get a copy of those? I like your design...it might get me past the wife obstacle... :-)

Bummer. I was looking forward to seeing this little guy completed. Just wondering if you have anyone you could borrow tools from?

You could make a guide for the jigsaw to do straight cuts. It is what I did on my first bartops.

Nobody that i know of unfortunately. Used to have a bunch of carpenter and welder friends when i was younger.

I thought of using a guide this time around but the last time i tried that, the saw started veering to one side and ruined a piece of wood i had.
Probably should have cut the wood before gutting the laptop. ;D

Here you go guys, unfortunately I'm a bit better at building than making the plans but they should give you a pretty good idea how it went together.
All done with basic tools, jigsaw, router, sander etc. I did use a table router to make the legs but only really because I wanted them to be able to slide on and off to change the height. The control panels were a bit tricky as I wanted them as thin as possible to give plenty of hand clearance below the glass and it was real tight fitting the buttons in. All bottom panels including the CPs are hinged to allow access

I came across some tempered glass from a broken nintendo cab and was all like "what could I do with this?" so I am 99% completed the woodworking on this:

really liking that design but considering it came from a nintendo cab, why not make it look a little more traditional and convert it into a playchoice themed cocktail design?
-
I only got the glass from a nintendo cab. It was an upright, but the glass was a good size to make this cocktail for the back of my office. I'm not going to pay homage to a rotten old nintendo cab that ended up in the landfill.

I'm thinking of adding some side by side CPs to my table, what do you think? Either that or have a couple of normal usb arcade sticks. Current thinking is go for the usb sticks as will be more comfortable on the sofa and give a bit more elbow room
