Title: Vertical Monitor...who?
Post by: fablog on July 31, 2013, 11:38:07 pm
Hi Guys,

Who use a Big flat Monitor in vertical orientation for his arcade, which model and are you happy with it? I'm wondering if it's a good idea for my project or is it too much hassle.

Thanks.

I want to use a PC monitor, connected with HDMI.
My question is more about the monitor orientation: vertical or horizonta. I would like to heard personal experiences and advice. I think about buying a 14:10 monitor to get the biggest area used for mame.

a 4:3 monitor would get you the most screen area used, but since those are pretty rare, 5:4 (1280x1024) screens are actually still made.  I don't know about HDMI, but HDMI -> DVI adapters are inexpensive and you still keep a fully digital signal that way.
