Hey guys,
What's your opinion on the best joystick for a vertical barcade intended for older games like 1942 and DK?
I have two servo-sticks in my fullsize cab and I am pretty happy with them, but was thinking about the U360 since I can also use it to connect my buttons to it. It is pretty deep though(2" top of plate to bottom of shaft), so that is a concern.
Thanks,
Justin

U360 all the way.

Haven't used a Servostik, but if are going to be alternating between 8-way and 4-way games, having something that can automatically switch might be handy.
The 360, while a nice joystick, is a royal PITA to switch out restrictor plates.

The servo stick is basically a JLW with a square rotating plate and motor. Got a pair in a cocktail cab and love em. Since OP has servos already. I used a pair of magstik+'s http://www.ultimarc.com/JShopServer/section.php?xSec=6 (http://www.ultimarc.com/JShopServer/section.php?xSec=6) with balltops in my multiwilliams cab and love those too. They do have a much shorter throw than the servos have. It's a different stik with a different feel. Some hate and some love it. Been loving me some 1944 the past couple weeks.
good day.

The idea of the U360 is to not change restrictors. The software maps fix that.

True, although you won't get the physical feel of a 4-way stick just through software.

Yeah, The mapping and button inputs have me leaning toward the u360. I realize that the feel won't be quite right for the 4-way games, but to be honest, even with the 4-way mode on the servo-stick, the 4-way games like Pac-Man still don't feel quite right to me. I'm not sure why, but I still have trouble turning corners.
Thanks for the input so far.

I have a pair of magstick +'s. I hate the short throw. They mess me up playing fighting games.

I have only just got a ServoStik, but for me already I prefer over Ultrastik for the digital joystick games. I prefer real 4-way restriction, and prefer the feel for 8-way games too.
Of course if you want to play analog joystick games as well, it's got to be the Ultrastik!

IMHO, the 360 is fantastic for Pac-man. Although that is using the 4-way restrictor plate. Not sure how it would feel with the 8 way (or no restrictor).

Looking at the info page for the U360, I have a question: Is the front mount restrictor plate kit able to be changed from the top of the CP, or do you need to unbolt the joystick to do it?
