Title: Trackball Won't Go Right?
Post by: jake_n on July 30, 2013, 11:06:51 am
I just picked up a 60-in-1 in a Centipede cabinet.  The trackball goes up/down and left.  It doesn't go right.  I tore it down, cleaned up the axles and bearings.  It rolls much better but still won't go right.  It looks like the original trackball was replaced with a 2-1/4" Happ trackball in 2001.

There are wires to the optical board for CLK and DIR.  Does the DIR read the trackball direction and CLK reads the speed?  Or are both read direction (i.e., DIR=left, CLK=right)?

I'm trying to determine if there is a loose wire on the CLK or DIR.

Thanks,

Jake

I got it working by putting the 60-in-1 board into test mode then fiddling with the trackball connectors.

It looks like the X-axis connector wasn't seated all the way or a wire in the connector was loose.  I'm still confused if the X-axis connector wasn't working why the trackball would still go left.
