Gudday all,
Been reading this forum for a few years and enjoyed it but only recently registered. Best info I have ever found has been on this site so thank you.
What I want to do is see if I can make a cordless AimTrak as I really haven't found anything as accurate as the AimTrak and not found a cordless version.
The bluetooth module below after much looking around appears to be correct for the purpose.

Running a LiPo battery from say an Airsoft gun should do the trick and I could probably even run a 14V with a 5V regulator for the AimTrak and the Bluetooth with the possibility of maybe (very maybe) even running a smaller 14V ultimarc recoil unit from the same battery.
My questions:
1. has anyone tested the theory above using a master slave bluetooth?
2. what is the current draw of the aimtrak module?
I would be very interested to find out. :)

I'd be interested in this as well. Personally I'd just be doing a wireless Aim Trak (no recoil) with some rechargeable AA hybrids wired to as close to 5v as I could get.

I did think about doing this but then I thought about the workable distance gor the aimtraks, surely it is easier to limit the distance by having a tether rather than saying to your mates you need to stand closer.

I'd be less interested in a wireless setup if I was doing a typical gun cab. But I am setting up a front projector with a larger light bar so my distances are bigger. Plus the computer that runs things is not near the screen but off to one side and the cords are more of a tripping issue there. Plus it's just kind of an additional challenge.

I think overall this will be pretty simple to setup electrically but I've never seen a Bluetooth module like this one before. All my research says yeah it should work but no one has done anything like it before and being an Aussie I don't have ready access to parts like this. :( For $50US it seems to be worth a shot. Then if it works spend the rest of the money needed to get good LiPo batteries to fit and modify the internals of the Aimtrak gun to take it.
So does anyone know the current draw on an Aimtrak module? A 2C LiPo is enough to power the circuit with ease but I'm wondering about voltage reg for the Aimtrak. The draw on the Bluetooth module is low.

A 2S Lipo should do the trick, just wire up something like an LM7805 5v voltage regulator to step it down from 8.4-7.6v. Might also want a low voltage alarm so you don't kill the pack by accident.

Good point was not even thinking of a voltage alarm. Should be pretty simple to add it in. Thanks.
