Title: Just Started Messing about with MA
Post by: mastermark on July 29, 2013, 03:58:04 pm
Ok so ive got the frontend sorted added a few emulators :) great so fat but got a few probs.

First is there a way in mame to hide the rom info and to get rid of the OK screen so the game just starts.

Second I've added Neo Geo emu and once booted from MA it just loads the emulator and i have to choose the game from inside that ??

Also last thing once MA has been launched can you hide the screen loading i.e. importing images ect ect

Thanks again guys ::)

Just a noob but I'll try to help.

There are 2 OK screens, one the first time you launch a rom and another letting you know that while the rom may be playable there is something wrong with it. The first OK screen disappears on it's own after you click it once. The second never goes away unless you find a complied version of MAME that gets rid of the nag screens. Check Google for that. This is a MAME issue, not a MA issue.

I can't help you on the second one, as I just use MAME for NeoGeo games. Is there a reason to use a separate NeoGeo emulator when MAME works well? You can try checking with the Maximus Arcade support website to see if the particular Neo Geo emulator you're using is even supported. If it is, there are directions on how to set it up properly.

No clue on the last thing as I'm not sure what you are trying to do.

Look at the readme in the preferences tab, scroll down and you will see the supported emulators plus their settings, make sure you enter this in plus use the appropriate emulator.
Groovymame will sort out your nonag plus hiscore requirements and is kickarse to boot.

I compile my own as each new version comes out. This patch allows for the saving of hi scores and, from my experience, eliminates the nag screens.

I use winkawaks for my neo geo emulator, with this in the command line:

%file -fullscreen

I tried to compile my own adding the .diff and I'm have no joy in dos :(
Is that the only way of getting rid of the nag screen ?
Ive also edited my name.ini still with no joy

I use mame compiler 64. It's pretty easy. On my i5 it takes about 40 minutes to compile. I believe a patch is the only way to remove what you are describing.
