Title: Arcade Legends V1 to MAME conversion
Post by: TeamPSI on July 29, 2013, 03:21:31 pm
Hey all! It's been a long time since I have been here, but it's great to see this place still going strong.

I am a former owner of an upright but have been without for a few years. I recently got a hold of a mint Arcade Legends V1 cabinet, working great.

I am tired of being limited, so it's time for MAME. I am sure to be back for Hyperspin help, but for now, I just wneed help on getting the hardware in.

I will grab an ArcadeVGA card for sure, but from there, what is best to do? The monitor works great, so should I be looking to get a J-pac?

I would like to use the trackball. I think that I saw something about a HAPP adapter that interfaces it as a mouse in windows. Will this work in MAME correctly? I can just use this and not buy the Ultimarc trackball input, right?

SO I guess what I need to know is... is this the right list of things to get?

Arcade VGA
J-Pac
Happ Controls trackball / mouse interface

Sorry for the noob-ish questions. It has been a while.

First you should see if your installed monitor is VGA. Does it have a VGA plug on it?

Also, I might be interested in purchasing your leftovers from the conversion.

I have had it working but still having issues with the video. Andy from Ultimarc says its a H-Hold issue with the monitor, but I dont have an adjustment for that on mine. Frustrated and want to catch it on fire.

So I was able to figure out the problem.  The adjustment for the H-Hold  is not located near the rest of the adjustments. After figuring that out the machine is working flawlessly using the ArcadeVGA 5000 and Jpac!

Thank you  :notworthy: Andy from Ultimarc!

Everything is working perfectly!!!      :applaud: ;D
