Title: Euro hinges for control panel
Post by: torchredraider on July 29, 2013, 02:00:23 pm
Hi team, wanted to get a recommendation on which euro hinges are best suited for the control panel top.  I see it shown many times here http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,59359.760.html (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,59359.760.html).  I want to ensure that the panel top is not restricted by the front when opening.  Is there any advice on hinge model?  I can see it needs to be a frameless inset, installed inverted.  Any other tips?

I answered my own question.  You want this or similar, mounted with the cup hinge in the box and the plate on the underside of the control panel. From my perspective this is reversed from a typical cabinet install where you would mount the cup in the door.  I mounted the cup in the box first and aligned and measured where the plate should be mounted.  This type allows the CP to lift and clear the box edge without contact.

The manufacture is listed as Blum on the Lowes website, but the in-store packaging is Richelieu.
