Title: HP Compaq DC5700 microtower Graphics card compatibility?
Post by: ronaldo28 on July 26, 2013, 04:21:33 am
Hi All

Wondering if you guys could help me.

I have a HP Compaq DC5700 microtower PC to which I'm converting to an MAME project.

It's a Golden Tee cab with a Hantarex Polo 25 15hz monitor.

Which Graphics card is compatible with the PC and ok for 15HZ??? the AGP slot on the board is ADD2 SDVO only.

I'm I wasting my time with this PC?

Would just using a Soft15HZ software on the built in Intel VGA work?

Please help, need to know if it's a waste of time me using this HP PC.

Cheers.

Tom

The ADD2 SVDO from what I remember simply routes the onboard video to external connectors and adds some functionality to the PC that the on board video does not have.  It is NOT a separate video card and will probably not give you any better results than the on board video.  It is an Intel exclusive and was not very popular so is only seen in a limited number of motherboards.  If you cannot live with the on board video then you should probably change to a PC that is not such an odd duck video arrangement.
