Title: Is there an easy way to reorder joysticks IDs for use in MAME?
Post by: BazookaJo on July 21, 2013, 11:24:49 am
Trying to use PPJoy to create a multi-joystick controller BUT once I plug in one or more USBs controllers, PPJoy is pushed down the enumarated list and is no longer joystick 1.

Instead, one of the USB controllers becomes the joypad for player 1 instead of PPJoy.

I know drventure did an app for this some time ago, but it looks bloody complicated

Is there an easier way?

JoyID I think will do what you are asking.

Sincere thanks but no joy (no pun intended) - MAME still likes a particular USB controller regardless of what ID it is  :banghead:

Think I might have to back and look at drventure's solution again.... :(

MAME uses the DirectInput enumeration, and the Logitech tool will not work for that.  Programs that don't use DI (like MaLa or PCSXR) can benefit from using the Logitech tool before launching the program though.

I can vouch for Dr. V's tool though.  Works great.
