Title: What's the name of that game again...Sol Divide

Been a few years since I played it.  Winged man who gotta save a tribe of other winged folk.  Kinda like kid icarus meets shadows over mystara.  Mid 90sish.  Go right and fight mixed with a bit of shump it seems.  I'm likely misremembering certain elements but for sure there is a dude with wings.  Help!

None of the above. Younger than Leg. Wings with bigger character sprites. More sidescrolling. Magic use based on character selected. One guy, on girl, on masked or animal headed. All winged.

I don't know what it is, but you have me scouring the internet to find it.... I must have all fight and go right games of all time....

Any idea what platform?  I'd like to rule out a few.  It's not PC Engine is it?


Lords of Thunder for example, winged people, but definitely a shooter not a fight and go right.

Denjin Makai 2?  Guardians? it certainly doesn't meet your requirement of all winged characters, nor the story line you mentioned nor the shoot em up elements....  But I'm finding nothing.

Nope, sorry.  I was an arcade title, I don't think it ever got released on any home platforms.  Pretty sure there was a US release of it.

I never played it in the Arcades but remember seeing it.  When I first got into MAME it made its way onto my favorites list and stayed there until that machine went kablooey.  Forgot about it for years, now I want it back. 

I think a lot of the other characters your fighting are also winged, like two waring factions.  Again it's hazy.

It wasn't motion capture but it was on the life like side for character proportions.

My guess is Legend Of Valkyrie.  It says it was only released in Japan but "...was translated into English and released in the Namco Museum Volume 5 compilation for the PlayStation."

But honestly the best game released where the character had wings was Gargoyles Quest.   :laugh:

Definetly not that.  Had a player select screen similar to the golden axe style IRRC.  Thanks for trying.  I feel we're getting somewhere...  :lol

It's just a shmup.  You have a close range attack, but it sucks and there is no block.  I really tried to like it, but the large character sprite size creates a high level of difficulty.  Love the art style though.
