I'm almost finished putting together my Ultimate Arcade 2 from mameroom.com and I'm having a hard time finding something to stick into the big hole in the front of my cabinet. The manual for the kit mentions some real coin doors I can get: http://www.mameroom.com/manuals/UAIIKit_Manual.pdf (http://www.mameroom.com/manuals/UAIIKit_Manual.pdf) (Part #40-0008-00) But those things are like 130 bucks, and I don't really think I need a working coin door since this is just for personal use.
I saw the stickers available at groovygamegear, and I may go that route if I can't find a faux door that fits the hole, but I'm looking for advice/help.
If there aren't any faux doors available that fit that hole, what all do I need to purchase to install the real door? I read the description of the door at http://na.suzohapp.com/amusement_products/coin_doors/40-0008-00 (http://na.suzohapp.com/amusement_products/coin_doors/40-0008-00) but it didn't really make it totally clear to me.
Thanks for your help!

Not sure of the measurements, but divemaster127 (member here) sells one:

EDIT: Actually, you may want to PM or email him the part # and see what he can do. He can get just about anything Happ has.
This looks like it: http://www.arcadeemulator.net/cgi-bin/shop/cp-app.cgi?usr=51F9692875&rnd=9866151&rrc=N&affl=&cip=&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=Multi-Player+Door&cat=Coin+Doors&catstr=HOME:Coin+Doors (http://www.arcadeemulator.net/cgi-bin/shop/cp-app.cgi?usr=51F9692875&rnd=9866151&rrc=N&affl=&cip=&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=Multi-Player+Door&cat=Coin+Doors&catstr=HOME:Coin+Doors)

Awesome. Is that his website? I'm unable to send him a PM as a new member, hopefully he swings by here and reads this thread! :)

His B/S/T thread is here (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,47066.0.html) if you want to be sure he sees your post.
You can also send Gary (Divemaster127) an email if you click on the (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/Themes/Yabb_SE_Classic_2/images/email_sm.gif) icon under his username/avatar.

If you don't want to go the mini door route then I have full sized used doors available for $37 shipped.

I'm sorry I'm really new at all this. This is my first cabinet. I'm not really sure what I want, other than I don't want a big ass ugly hole in the front of my cabinet.
Whatever I can get to remedy that problem (something that will fit nicely into the hole of mameroom's Ultimate Arcade 2 kit) I'm all for.
Any advice/suggestions/explanations would be super appreciated!

Ok, that wants a square door same size as the old Midway and William's ones. I'll check my parts shed and see if I have one.

Yeah, the PDF construction manual lists Happ parts numbers:
2-PLAYER COIN DOOR ASSEMBLY (PART #40-0008-00)
3-PLAYER COIN DOOR ASSEMBLY (PART #40-0009-00)
4-PLAYER COIN DOOR ASSEMBLY (PART #40-0325-00)
But guessing other things fit too

I've got the square Happ door in my UA2. Nice piece of kit. I want to put in the 4-Player door, so I can have the reject inserts match the players' joystick colors. :)

Still looking to buy something!
Either a faux door that will fit or the real deal, preferably for less than Happ sells it for!

what about just using one of these?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Roll-Down-Quarter-Acceptor-25-US-Coin-Mech-Mechanism-/380452183783?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5894b79ee7 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Roll-Down-Quarter-Acceptor-25-US-Coin-Mech-Mechanism-/380452183783?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5894b79ee7)
much smaller. works great and requires a very small opening.

The hole is already cut, so I don't have much say in what to put in it. One of the downsides of using a pre-cut kit for the cabinet I guess!

What type of material is the cabinet made from ?? -- might be cheaper and easier to just make a new front panel without the cutout if you do not plan on actually using it -assuming the material is available at your local Hardware shop -(they should be able to cut a panel to size if you just take the measurements of the current one if you do not have the tools or experience to do it yourself) - and the Melamine coated panels are not very expensive ! Figure that ay you do not have the big hole or a big coin door that you do not use.(and don't waste the $ buying one you don't need)

That's definitely an option I'm considering, though I do think the coin door look does help tie the whole thing together and make it look authentic.
Preferably I would get something that looks exactly like a coin door, whether or not it's functional is irrelevant to me though.
I've thought about getting that fake sticker thing, but I dunno, it looks a bit tacky up close I think?
