Title: How to secure cabinet glass
Post by: agent4877 on July 15, 2013, 08:33:38 pm
Hi

I'm looking for some advice. I have a Midway cabinet ( killer instinct to be exact ) that I'm building my mame with. My question is how do I secure the glass that sits in front of the monitor? There is a small ledge it sits on and that's about it ... It worries me that it might fall out.

Thanks

The glass might have space to slide up into the marquee area while also resting on the monitor shelf.

Yes it does, but is it safe to leave it like this? Nothing hold glass back. What if machine it tipped forward, then it could fall out.

With a dedicated KI cab, the glass slides up behind the speaker wood a little, and rests on the shelf at the bottom. When the control panel bolts up there is a little piece of metal attached to the control panel that holds the bottom of the glass in place. In the unlikely event the machine tips forward, the glass wont move.

Why would you ever tip the 400lb machine that far forward anyway?

And if you did I think the last thing I'd be worried about is the glass bezel. :dunno
