Title: Help: Need tutorial for Groovymame
Post by: c0dehunter on July 13, 2013, 04:18:41 am
Hello all,
I have always been using front ended MAME (MAME32UIFX, etc.), but I need to experiment with groovymame, and I would like to know if there is a readme or tutorial on how to use command lines to run games, etc. Better yet, if there is a front end , which utilizes groovymame.

I have installed crt_emudriver_9.3_1.2a_xp32_multisync.rar  on my MSI HD 4350 Radeon, running on Windows XP Professional x86.

I am NOT using any arcade cabinet, or an arcade monitor, rather just my 20" Sony PVM 20L5 (true 15KHz) with my computer, running MAME and other emulators.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

To manually run ANY version of mame from cmd prompt, you only need to type the exe name followed by the game romname
so for groovymame I renamed the exe to mame.exe for simplicity sake..
assuming you know your way around cmd prompt (why else would you being doing it there if you weren't), just go to your mame folder and say for 1942, type:
mame 1942

simples ..

also, any frontend will work with any version of mame as far as I know...
so you can choose from:
mamewah
gameex
hyperspin
etc
