Title: Stumbled across these dusty cabs/pins
Post by: Monkeyvoodoo on July 12, 2013, 04:25:22 pm
Just took a trip home a few weeks ago to Hamilton, ON Canada and while there I wandered through a local business called Mr. Used.

Found these tucked away in the clutter:

I was in no position to pick one up (as much as I would have loved to grab one of the pins) since I was 4500 Km's from home and driving a hatchback.

I though I'd tip anyone who lives in the area off if they were looking for parts or whole cabinets. Warning though, Mr Used is known to ask stupid prices for things. You may want to haggle.

That's a pretty good stash of games aside from the Crime Fighters.  Cosmic Avenger is awesome.  The woodrail looks like a lot of fun.

Gonna go there tomorrow to see if I can get a cab from there. Happen to recall what sort of prices they were looking to get for them?

I never asked as I was in no position to transport anything. And no prices on anything in there

Keep us updated! I'm in Ajax, and would be very interested in what Mr. Used asks.

Planning to head over there in a little while. I'll ask prices, not sure if I'll be walking out with one, unless I hide it in my brother's garage for a bit. (wife would kill me)  ;D

She's bugging me about getting rid of stuff in basement, although that works for me, more room for cabinets.  ;D

Ok, bit of a waste of a trip. Neat place though, lots of neat stuff. The owner is clearly a hoarder and probably does not really want to part with anything in this building. I say that because the prices are 150% mark up. The newer or any working arcade machines basically, his asking price is $1200! If I were to evaluate my Ms. Pacman machine with their logic, my cabinet must be worth $2500-$3000  ::)

Just about the only decent deal I saw, hidden away and stuff on top of it, was an original Space Invaders cocktail. Guy said it does not power up, and is asking $225 (not bad I guess, but really?)

I know you can offer/haggle some, but haggle down from $1200 and you are still paying way more than what these cabinets are worth.

The pinball machines, asking $450, and they are needing complete restoration (probably not working, missing glass, parts etc)

Wow, that's ridiculous and disappointing. Sorry you wasted the trip!

Well, not really a waste of a trip, only 15 minutes away, but I usually call a trip a waste meaning that I didn't walk away with a purchase.  :-\

That Space Invaders one though, if only it were closer to $100 (I didn't try offering). Sent a couple photos of some vintage Coke machines to my wife, and as soon as she heard price, she felt let down. LoL

The cocktail machine isn't a Space Invaders, it is an "IPM Invader" machine. I had one identical to it, although the ROM on mine was hacked to run Galaxian...
