Title: Replaced Flipper coils in Williams Skylab EM and still weak Flippers?
Post by: radioman on July 11, 2013, 01:51:07 pm
Hello All,
Flipper coils were shot in my old Williams Skylab EM machine and I changed them out still to find weak flippers?
I have schematic and did some checking but nothing is hitting me in the face.
Any help appreciated!
Thanks,
Rich

Sounds like it wasn't the coils.  Did you rebuild the flipper mechs?  Replace the coil sleeves?  Clean the switch contacts in that whole circuit?  Replace the EOS switch on the flipper?  Replace the flipper button switches?

Chad,
Of course I did not....LOL
Amateur,.... bad flippers new coils..... That was it.
I guess I need to spend more time on this as it was a rush job to have the machine ready for a party??

The "end of stroke" switch and the flipper button cabinet switch contacts wear down over time and need to be replaced. When the contacts get pitted/worn you'll have weak flippers.
