Title: Roller or Brush

So what's the consensuses to get the best finish with gloss paint, roller or brush? then there's flock or foam roller, real or synthetic brush. :banghead:

For cabs I use a foam roller, the type for painting kitchen cabinets, but I only use semi-gloss.
It leaves a little texture similar to textured laminate.

It would work for gloss paint, but wouldn't give you a smooth glossy finish if that's what you're looking for.
If I were going for a smooth glossy finish, I'd be spraying it.

A quality foam roller (or spray) after a good primer sanded smooth.  Oil based will lay out better than water based.  I like to add a conditioner like floetrol or penatrol too.

For Smooth finish, this is my general rule of thumb:

Air Spray Gun > Spray Paint > Foam Roller > Foam Brush > Fabric Roller > Bristle Brush

Of course, there is fiddly stuff like roller nap to figure in, but If you got an area to spray, I'd go that route first, otherwise a foam roller is the next best option, IMO.

I've used foam rollers on both my cabinets (no graphics, just solid color paints) and I'm happy with the results.  Its not perfectly smooth, but it looks good. 

Air spray is the best option, but the equipment and place to actually spray it adds complications.  Form roller  you can do anywhere.

A good primer underneath is key though.
