Title: Star Wars Yoke - POTS
Post by: tthurman on June 27, 2013, 11:15:09 am
Finally obtained a flight yoke, and went ahead a purchased the USB adapter sold at This Old Game.  I apologize if this has been asked before, but I'm hopeful that someone here can answer a question concerning the pots.

Since I'm using this USB adapter will the original 5K pots work, or do I need to replace them with 100 - 120k linear pots?

Does anyone have a source for the pots, I seem to find plenty on ebay.

Thanks

That USB adapter is plug and play compatible with the yoke so there's no need to modify the yoke or replace the pots unless they are bad.

ArcadeFixIt (http://arcadefixit.com/category.sc?categoryId=16) has replacement pots.

I think there is also a thread with a part number for the Allen Bradley or Clarostat Extended Life pots.

Don't bother with the cheap (~$5) substitutes -- they are definitely not designed to handle the forces encountered during gameplay and will wear out quickly.
