Title: A generic OUYA review
Post by: Generic Eric on June 27, 2013, 10:59:59 am
By now, we all know about the OUYA.  If you were a kickstarter backer like me, hopefully you have received your unit like I have.

I have found a few fun games from the OUYA market.  The funnest of all is called No brakes Valet.  2nd is a wipeout clone.  The end all be all is Super Hexagon, I sideloaded this from www.humblebundle.com (http://www.humblebundle.com) that I purchased months ago.  This is my favorite game since Tetris.

TODO:
Figure out how to get mame4droid reloaded to accept coin press without having to use mouse to click on the on screen display.
Attempt to connect OUYA directly through USB to computer as I read about.
Download program to tablet and ipod to work as controllers.
Plex

Done:
Sideload
Connect USB hub, keyboard and mouse. Really handy when trying to install dropbox.
Connect 8-bitty icade controller

Ask me questions if you like.  I am curious to hear of anyone's adventures and worthwhile things such as connecting a tablet.

Welcome to the Ouya Club!

How does the icade work?

I've been using blueboard (the tablet and Ouya app) that lets me use my tablet as a keyboard. It works pretty well.
Good to hear that super Hexagon is fun. I haven't tried it yet but I'll throw it in my dropbox now and load it when I get home.

I wonder if Osmos and World of Goo will work using the mouse and keyboard as controls...that's how I played them on my PC.

The 8bitty controller works well enough.  I still have the problem with the having to use the mouse to coin up on some games.  Othewise, it was a snap.

I haven't turned it on today, but I read from Terry Cavanaugh's twitter that he has ported *some* of his games to OUYA.  One tweet stated it would be harder for VVVVV and Super Hexagon than for the others.
