Sorry but Bill is wrong on this one. In Superman IV lex steals a strand of superman's hair... which is holding up a 1000lb weight. He can barely clip it with bolt cutters. As we all know beard hair is even tougher. So that means that his beard hair would be tougher than high tensile strength steel. You have thousands upon thousands of hairs in your beard... so it would take so many grinding discs that it wouldn't be practical at least not with anything on earth.
I saw this promotion and found it insulting... how Superman shaves has already been addressed in cannon in various incarnations including Superman the Animated series. He looks into a mirror and uses his heat vision to burn it off.

You know, now that I think about it, I think a better question would be how does Superman comb his hair? Seriously... any comb he ran through it would break apart. I mean he could use his hands.... maybe that's why he always has that tuft of hair hanging down....
