The NEW Build Your Own Arcade Controls

Just wanted to put a note in the main forum for this, as I originally mentioned it a few pages deep in our B/S/T thread.
I finally have my 4'x8' CNC router set up in it's new home, after having to tear it down for our move a while back. I spent a lot of time getting it tweaked in and upgraded to a 5HP spindle, so I thought I would put it to work and maybe help out some folks here at the same time.
At the moment, this service is on a "trial run", so I'm limiting the panel top size to any dimension or shape, so long as it has an overall footprint of <= 12"x26" at a flat cost of $34.95 plus shipping. Bigger pieces are not a problem, but we'll take that on a case-by-case basis. The plan is to also make these designs available to others who might want the same panel top, but are not able to do the CAD work themselves. With the designers' permission of course.
For more details, and photos of an example top panel I just made for tron84, check out this post. (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,107167.msg1368814.html#msg1368814)
Thanks,

I don't suppose you have the CAD file for the DK panel, do you?

No, but if you can find an actual size overlay with crosshairs for the centers of the controls, and know the size the holes need to be, it should be pretty trivial to do one. I'm sure someone here could help you find those, or even has the dimensions of everything already. I can also help with the CAD work if necessary, since it's a fairly simple piece.

Because there was some confusion earlier, I should also add here that folks don't need to be concerned about knowing how to make files for a CNC machine to do it's work. The drawing files only need to show the finished outlines of where holes / features should be. I do the rest. :)

I just received my control panel today from you Randy.
It looks GREAT!!!! :applaud:
And in usually GroovyGameGear fashion, it was packed nicely too. It arrived in perfect shape. ;D

Hi Randy,
GP Wiz working perfect w/ Proteus stick in Ubuntu-- thanks! Will post how I got it working in that thread.
Anyway, now that I know that stick works in my OS -- I'm ready to populate my new cp!!! :applaud: My cp is a little larger (15.75" x 31.125" x 0.75”) It's basically a 'drop in fit' for a Golden Tee 2005, so folks might be interested to have one and not 'hack up' the GT original panel. BTW, I will need the lexan or plexiglass cover too, can you do that?
I have it modeled in Solidworks. Can you accept a Solidworks file? If so what’s the preferred file format? What's the process for placing an order? ??? So many questions... :P Thanks! :)
Regards,
MotorHedJr

Great to hear! Looking forward to seeing your build and hearing about the details.

For SolidWorks, just make a 1:1 scale drawing of your parts, without all the extra information frames and such (balloon notations are fine if depths are required) and export it as a DXF at 1:1. SolidWorks has always had a good DXF filter, so it's no problem to machine from this data. vR11 or vR12 should be fine.
Once I see what you need, I can figure out a price for you on this one. I can also see what it would cost to do the acrylic. It's not something I keep on the shelf in that size (at the moment) so I'll need to pick some up at the home store or get it shipped in. Either way, it could be a little pricey.

@Randy I just PM you.
