Title: Minipac wiring harness problem
Post by: gurusi on June 19, 2013, 12:04:56 pm
I have some problems with my mini PAC. My player 2 joystick right (Grey - group j1), my player 1 (sw4 - brown group j4) and player 2 (sw4 brown group j2) don't seem to work as inputs.

I have checked the connections both on the micro switch and on the minipac. I have also tested the micro switch with a different input of which it works fine.

after an evening of messing around and disassembling my panel I have discovered that it is the wiring harness. I set winipac on test mode and connected a ground wire to the pin housing  (on the 40 pin block) on the mentioned inputs above. They all function via the pin housing but not via the connectors. I have checked the connectors and they are all secure.

There seems to be a problem between the housing block on the minipac and the spade connection. I am hesitant to take apart the housing block....

Any advice?

Hi after reading up on things im going to try to replace the faulty wires.....

I need to buy replacement wire and terminal pins. Does anyone know the size of the female Terminal pins so as to be compatible withe the housing connector?

Thanks

Have you e-mailed Andy about this?
(I thought he would have seen this thread by now.)

He stands behind his products, so there's a pretty good chance he'll send you replacement wires.

Also, Ultimarc sells a 10-wire Extension Harness Pack (http://www.ultimarc.com/JShopServer/section.php?xSec=3&xPage=1&jssCart=c643c6b878af0ed8f3f4443e17258f35) that you could use to replace the bad terminals/wires and Paradise sells a 4-wire (http://www.paradisearcadeshop.com/en/jamma-harnesses/301-4-wire-100-header-wiring-harness-0855742003013.html) harness that can provide replacement wires.

Compared pins and blocks from both vendors side-by-side -- they look identical.
