General Rules:
- One Credit, No Continues.
- Highest score wins.
- No savestates, savestate practices, etc. during the round.
- MAME INP recordings are encouraged but optional.
- A screenshot is required to enter a score (press F12 to save screenshot showing your final score) or take a photo of the game screen.
- If you're a MARP competitor on this title, keep in mind this is just a friendly competition among forum members, so maybe you shouldn't enter. However, if you're a forum member and this is a game you're good at and nobody knows about it, this is your time to shine!
- Even if you don't have a competitive score or if you don't *think* that you have a competitive score, please post it anyway to keep the thread fun & to give everybody a good sense of score ranges.
- Please make sure your scores are from games that take place during the competition period (no posting your best score from last year, etc.).
- Use of autofire or other non-standard hacks within MAME or your PC's OS are not allowed.  No program or other person or entity of any sort may manipulate your controls during your game.  Coaching & back-seat driving is fine as long as the party doesn't directly influence the game or controls.
- If you can beat any of the high scores from the previous competitions, you can submit your score to the BYOAC High Game Scoreboard.

Good luck!

I have just found some info about this game that needs to be clarified pronto:

"players are given the opportunity to purchase additional whips at the interludes between levels, this is done by inserting an extra credit."

I'm assuming that this is "verboten", ja? (German for yes).

Interesting pick!

I have never seen one of these until recently, it was one of a very few video games available for play at the PAPA headquarters in Pittsburgh during Pinburgh Match-play 2013.

Good point. To confirm & clarify, this pretty much falls under the "- One Credit, No Continues." rule in the original post. No purchase of whips!

Thanks,

It is a little out there. Kind of a decent game, but real hard, REAL quick. The graphics.....

Everything poo poo brown Atari 2600 graphics...

But not in the snap above. Perhaps Jace is using a different version??

I'm exaggerating a "bit", but if u look at in-game snaps that Jason provided at the very top, almost everything is brown. Even the tombs (I assume, since they look like couches and lay-z-boy chairs) basically blend in with the walls.
12,170 <- I have improved by whole 20 points, "yay"!
I can't play this game EVERYTHING annoys me, I'm afraid my anger towards this game will bubble up to the surface and I'll damage my control panel. It just too much to keep track of in such a dinky game! Time, earthquakes, additional button for whips, and the most annoying RELOAD! It seem to run out of bullets every time I need it most!
I'm not posting a picture, until no one posts better score by the end of the competition.

Back in #119, ta-ta.

HMH HMH HMH HMH HMH.

For some reason, I had this memory of the game being monochrome. Yeah, just mostly. I really wanted to like this when I found it in MAME, me being a D-stick fan....  Played a game. Like I said, it's pretty hard. But also on the lean side of game play and all. Running from level to level it's easy to get stuck in places that seem pretty clear. Love the, "And now a word from our sponsor". Wonder how successful it was, though....

I really liked this game on my Atari 800XL (loaded it from tape) but this arcade original is annoying.  I thought the dual sticks would make it so much easier to play, but no.  The Atari version is more colorful too, and doesn't get so tough so fast.

In the tab menu you need to map Left-Left, Left-Right, Left-Up, Left-Down, Right-Left, Right-Right, Right-Up, and Right-Down.

It's a 2 joystick + 1 button game.

left/left = left stick, left direction = move left

right/up = right stick, up direction = fire up

Thought I'd at least post my pitiful score of 6k (with no picture).   This game is infuriating!   Every time I enter a room I get hit with an earthquake or some crap.   If I made it thru a level I usually lose a guy just trying to get to enter the next room.

Heh, I just logged in with crap score thinking kixfan is going to post something half decent, and here he is with ~6K? I guess my one single (lucky) game today might be enough to be picking a game tomorrow? There is still time...

btw it is 28210 not  23210 (score below is 24K)

someone needs to pick a new game

It's coming within an hour. I sat down to the computer with the intention to do it, but noticed excessive heat coming from my computer. My video card was 86C on idle! and 97% GPU usage. So I got distracted with trying to find out what's going on. Finally reinstalled the vid drivers and all is good.

Final tally looks something like this:

Jasonbar - 78,940
mimic - 28,210
kixfan - ~6K

This game must be the biggest stinker of them all, no? "My" Knuckle Joe has been vindicated ;)

You guys all stink. No accounting for taste. But, I guess I can't argue with the pitiful thread activity...

I was out of town & don't always get forum notifications--sorry for my lack of posts.

Anyway, you guys still all stink for not liking Lot Tomb.

Stinkily yours,
-Jason
