So I was given 6 monitors the other week and since I have blown all my hard earned money on other arcade items I figure this will keep me occupied for the next little while without spending too much cash ;D. I figure I'll keep a list of the monitors as I go for my own benefit and so that hopefully others can chime in and help out a bit. I got them a week or two ago but just this morning had a chance to really go through them. I have 3 remote boards but only 1 is acutally good. 1 has all pots broken, the other has one broken pot. This is what I've gotten to so far:
Monitor #1
Model: 25k7197
- Works good!
- Could probably use a cap kit
Monitor #2
Model: 25k7193
- Best physical shape overall, looks nice and clean
- Powers on, picture shows, colours are nice and bright
- Picture is shaky
Monitor #3
Model: 25k7193
- Powered on, a lot of arching, unplugged right away (think this was coming from a stray wire on the neckboard that was close to the chassis)
- Stole fuse out of this to test #4, #6
- Thinking this might be a parts monitor, I know somebody that wants just a tube and I have a 27" nanao ms9 without a metal frame and I'm thinking I might be able to modify this metal frame to fit it.
Monitor #4
Model: 25k7193
- No power, fuse was blown
- Replaced fuse, when I plugged it in the fuse started glowing red, unplugged it and somehow managed to save the fuse 8)
Monitor #5
Model: 25k7193
- Picture shows
- Problem with red drive: won't show red on colour bar but the whole monitor clearly turns red when the red drive is turned up
Monitor #6
Model: Unknown (probably a 25k7193 but model sticker was removed and haven't looked closely at it yet)
- No power, saw fuse was blown
- Replaced fuse, powered on, couldn't save the fuse :(

Decided it was going to be easiest to steal the video feed from my mame cab to test them all out with

I won't be sending these out for repair. I will be working on these myself in my spare time. I have no need for the monitors I simply wanted a project to keep myself occupied without spending money or spending very little on individual components.

#4 and #6 are probably going to be your biggest pains in the butt to fix. power problems on the B+ side, so either the bridge diodes and the regulator, or just the regulator. i suspect blown diodes and regulator on #6 and possibly just a regulator on #4. hard to tell without further testing.
#5 just sounds like maybe a blown transistor (Q201) or broken trace on the neck card. the traces on these lift pretty easy. it's not uncommon to knock a transistor and have the leg push out and peel the trace right off the board. some vibrations or another knock can break it right off.
#2 try giving the 50/60hz pot a bit of a tweak. it can cause some weird things if it goes out of whack.
the others (actually all of them since they could all be original.) could just use some caps and be good to go.
