Title: Jukebox frontend?
Post by: Add221 on June 10, 2013, 05:03:00 am
Right my wife wants me to build a jukebox for her the only problem she has given me orders about the way it must look (demandingwench)
She wants one like the pub had that we used to goto in the 90's that had the album art/cover with song list and selection number on a spinning pillar which spun with a button to find the album you wanted.
Problem is I don't posses the skills/knowledge to build one so I was wondering if there was some software out there that could duplicate this in a screen (compromise) of even a combo like a media player along with a frontend.
I've researched other software to use for a jukebox which I like but this spinning pillar effect is the sticky point, please help

http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Jukebox_Software (http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Jukebox_Software)

this is a good place to start your research for software.  Most of the programs have some sort of trial version that you can install and try out.

Might not find one "exactly" like she wants, but maybe she will like one of these as well.

I use Zenpoint DigitalCenter for my jukes, but many of the others are quality programs too.  Some free, some paid.

I remember when I was researching, I installed almost every one of these to try out, then narrowed down to just a few, and then finally chose a winner.

Good Luck! :)

DW Jukebox (was wincab before) comes with a skin that is basically what you are describing.

If you try skjukebox and like it, you can also try my sw. It's still in development and only plays music, but has many options.
