Unfortunately, I have scorpions in my back yard. I know someone from the south side brought them over to this part of town....
In any case, I've found a few in the house over the last month. And I always know when they're around. A little while ago, I got done watching Star Wars (Harmy's, very nice looking), and went into the kitchen to rinse my bowl. And I knew there was a scorpion around!
So I went to the pantry cabinet to get my LED flashlight - they show right up in the white light - and damn if it wasn't right inside on the floor!
A couple before that I got the feeling as I was walking through the game room toward the front door to go outside and check my plant drip. I had the lights off and had my flashlight in hand but not on - and I stopped, turned it on pointing it to the left just under the pool table - and there it was!
I would've taken a picture of this one, but my luck would have it be gone by the time I got back. No sir-ee.

Scorpions glow under UV light, most white LED's use a phosphor doped UV chip to produce white light (sort of the same way fluorescent tubes work.) a fair amount of UV escapes the LED so thats why they glow brighter with the LED light you have there.
get yourself a great big blacklight and go hunting, a guy could collect them and send them to a university for study.
i guess a guy could also collect them and sell them as well. :dunno

Ugh...I don't think I could be comfortable going in my yard if it was filled with Scorpions.

Oh yeah? Hm. An online source said an easy way to catch them was to set out a wet and wadded towel. I just catch them with a dust pan and hand broom and throw them in the alley. I mean, they're not vermin, they're just scary because they have stingers. I haven't decided what to do in large. I don't want to spray because they use a neuro-toxin, and I don't want to be anywhere near that stuff.

Didn't know they had any kind of scorpion trap or such. I haven't looked, though. No new sightings.
