Don't use an arcade cabinet for a jukebox.

If I were you I would start with the software. Find a software that you like and go from there. Once you're done with the software you can start building. Mountain (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,98274.0.html) sells some jukebox kits. My try sending him a private message to see when they are available.

I'm still happy with my semi-jukebox made out of a nice set of shelves from Costco, so that's an option that you might consider as a starting point other than an arcade cabinet.  I could easily see keeping the general concept but closing in the top portion, framing in the display in some way and adding some tasteful buttons and maybe a little bit of lighting effects to increase the 'jukeboxiness'.  Those are my long term plans but are kind of dependent on what the next PC I use turns out to be when the current one dies.

One thing I know is that I would never, ever have the display mounted fully vertical.  I'd always want some kind of tilt to it to face up to the user for ergonomic reasons.  So if I were to box in the display area on my current setup I'd have it tilted into the cabinet while also allowing some flat area to rest an adult beverage during perusal.

I want my jukebox to blend in to our family room to a degree instead of being a focal point.  If I had mad furniture building and design skills, I'd probably feel differently.
