Title: could we see autofire added to groovymame
Post by: adder on June 06, 2013, 11:10:52 am
i was thinking of maybe giving groovymame a go but i really like the autofire feature found in mameuifx, as i really dont like mashing buttons for long periods of time (mainly talking shooters of course). in mameuifx for each button u have the option to set autofire on/off, plus 'autofire speed' amount from 1 to 10

is this a feature we might see added to groovymame, or unlikely?

I hope not.

Groovymame goals are:
- add (auto-generated) custom modelines to the system on the fly
- keep audio/video synchronized
- save highscores (actually this is a side effect as it needs the hiscore patch)

IMHO all these goals enhance the emulation fidelity, while the "autofire option" wouldn't.
