Title: NeoGamma r9 b52/56 How do I run Gamecube Games on Wii?
Post by: samarmenfilms on June 05, 2013, 01:24:16 am
Hi there everyone I have a modded wii non/usb enabled with NeoGamma r9 b52/56 installed on it. I went through my old collection and re-burned the files on DVD-R discs for all of my wii and gamecube games. The Wii games work fine when using NeoGamma but the Gamecube games don't seem to work at all....I have messed around with the GC settings and I can't seem to get them to work....the system says it is running the disc but it usually just takes me back to the wii home menu and resets the system. Can anyone tell me the proper way to boot these games please? I know usb would be easier but with the wii being outdated as it is I really don't want to invest any more into it.....I just want to be able to run what I have. Thanks everyone.

Didn't think people used discs anymore, if you have a spare sd card you can use dios mios and run them from that.

All i can suggest on the neogamma route is check out  Gbatemp (http://gbatemp.net/threads/neogamma-r9-beta.219243/)

I thought I read somewhere when I was going to hard mod my wii  (before soft mods) that if you did mod the wii, the functionality of playing gamecube backups was disabled or non working.  Thus the hard mod was not a solution as I have a crapload of original game cube discs.

The only alternative was to stick the game on a SD card.

The last time I messed with it you could put gamecube images on a fat32 partition.  SD isn't needed, backup discs aren't needed.

As I said I just want to be able to boot straight off of the discs.....there isn't really a point to be adding anything else to the system since it is already been replaced.  Does anyone have a fix for booting off of discs by chance?

Well I'll tell you this, the Wii has a DVD drive that WILL wear out.  I burned the drive out of mine and now use a harddrive only.  I would really suggest using the disc drive as little as possible.

Anyway afaik they never did get gamecube backups working really well on dvdr's

Think of it this way.... You can get a 1tb portable drive for around 60-70 bucks right now.  If you stop using it on the wii, it'll work on the Wii U, the Xbox One, the PS4, or your mame cab.

Speaking of Wii U....

Huh?  Why would I care if Nintendo recalled the basic set?  It's a waste of money and nobody bought it.  The Deluxe set sold waaay better and is the better version.

Why do you think the Deluxe model will now be offered in white?  They are going to take the basic model, upgrade it, and re-package it as a deluxe.
