I just wanted to reprogram three keys of an old Slikstik custom controller.
The (latest) WinIPAC.exe software was not working very reliably on Windows 7 x64 bit. (It didn't seem to recognize all of the keys on my board as part of the ipac).
I pressed Program and it said "programming failed". But now my slikstik has NO PROGRAMMING. No buttons works. Nothing. I read online that Windows 7 x64 might have been part of the problem.
And restarting WinIPAC.exe doesn't help - the Panel Designer doesn't recognize any of my buttons.
Anything to do??? This is crazy.
Help.

I rebooted Windows (have no idea why this should help...) and now all of the buttons on the panel register a key press - but none of the keys are the same as before. i.e. quarter insert one player instead of 5 is now 7 for no reason at all... All keys are seemingly random but consistent.
And the WinIPAC.exe software can't seem to program ANY of the buttons - in the Panel Designer it won't recognize any of the buttons as being part of the IPAC.
Help. (again)

I recently found out while trying to re-program the ipac in my decade old control panel on Win7 xp64, that it wouldn't work. I had the same issue as you with keys not programming to the ipac chip. Can't recall if the keypresses came out correct or not though. Anyhow, I needed to run the legacy software from an older OS. The new ipac software won't cut it on older ipacs.
So I leeched an older version from ultimarc's site, and ran it an an older laptop running Windows 98. Hooked up my ipac to that, and it reprogrammed like a charm first time out.
Can't promise you it'll fix your issue but the ultimarc legacy software available here.... http://www.ultimarc.com/download.html (http://www.ultimarc.com/download.html)
