These boards are just like the neo multicarts, they are the official games running on official hardware (the neo multicart would be running on your MVS), but they are subjected to the quality of whoever made them. So it's not emulation, but if your board dies your screwed, and it's still possible to have sound/graphic glitches because of poor workmanship.

Getting one is the risk you take, it may play perfect or it may not. I've been tempted to get a neo multicart a few times, but ultimately decided it wasn't worth the risk. Had a friend buy one and it died on him after a few months, with the price you pay for these you can buy a few official games... If it's a matter of trying games out, just use MAME for free.

It's also been said these things draw more power than standard carts (the neo for example) and can fry your mobo over time.

So they don't seem to be MAME emulation. But I am no expert.

According tothe description :

Finally a multigame PCB for the arcade purist! This CAPCOM CPS-II 18-in-1 Multigame JAMMA PCB actually runs many popular CAPCOM games on original CAPCOM CPS-II hardware. So unlike all other multigame PCBs, this CAPCOM 18-in-1 PCB uses NO EMULATION! Running on original CPS-II hardware so every game plays exactly true to the arcade version because it is the exact arcade version. Games are selected via an OSD (On Screen Display) super easy to use interface.

Item Specifications
Manufacturer: CAPCOM
Genre: Multigame
Monitor Orientation: Horizontal

So should be fine to discuss as they are not using Emulation and seem to be manufactured by CAPCOM so shouldn't be any licensing problems.

Also Looks to be available for $230 at JammaBoards.com but currently Out of Stock  ( http://www.jammaboards.com/store/capcom-cps-ii-18-in-1-multigame-jamma-pcb-pcb-18in1.html (http://www.jammaboards.com/store/capcom-cps-ii-18-in-1-multigame-jamma-pcb-pcb-18in1.html) )

Capcom doesn't make those, the games are as unlicensed as every other multikit out there. Same thing as a Neo Geo multicart, except it is CPS-2 instead. If Capcom sold that board it would be $800 instead of $200 and it certainly wouldn't include the bootleg Red Wave version of SF II. It probably wouldn't have Cadillacs and Dinosaurs either, as I doubt they bought a permanent license to sell that particular comic book adaptation.

yep, they're bootlegs, and have the same flaky production values as any other bootlegs even if the base board is original Capcom.

none of the qsound based games use qsound either, they all use music and effects ripped from other games (because the converted boards don't have the qsound chips)  I'm told a number of the games have tile glitches like some early versions of MAME too, because they've not all been modified correctly to work with the addressing pals.

they're not MAME, so it's none of our business what you do with them, but if you're buying one thinking it's high quality / official / legal to use you're mistaken.

They were interesting at one point because they include the 'Street Smart' bootleg of Final Fight (not the SNK game) which allows you to play as the enemies / bosses, but even that's been dumped now, and runs in MAME
