Hollerin at you noobs to make sure of the [completion] of the subject line format.
-
Just to be clear, Gray_Area, are they neglecting to update the subject line when something is [SOLD]/[FOUND], or forgetting the MANDATORY location in the subject line per the last sticky thread (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,87353.0.html) in B/S/T?

All of the above man.
It's like sharing a kitchen with roomates. We all use the kitchen, so everyone could do their part to keep it clean! :police:

I am really not gonna get anal about people not updating their thread title if the current status of the item is clear within the thread. Sure it is a courtesy, but not a big deal. The attention span of a B/S/T thread is a very short and then it slips off the radar very quickly if it is not bumped.
The two seconds it takes for the rare random viewer to click on the link and see the item is no longer wanted or it is sold is not enough to merit me caring. They probably would have clicked the link anyway.
I also think the state or province and city thing should not be mandatory, at least for small shippable things. Who cares if the joystick I buy is from Salt Lake City, Utah or Flint, Michigan? Shipping is the same.

It does matter when it's coming from over the border, or from across the pond. Some people might not want to pay the extra $$ for shipping/customs, and having it in the header just saves people from wasting time with PM's to find out they're out of their shipping price-range.

I am not talking about country, that should be mandatory, but when shipping small items, I have never encountered a shipping method that cared about what city I am in, not even state either. Since the seller determines the shipping method, I don't know how a buyer could use the city or state to help them determine cost anyway without PMing for a quote. Size and weight is also a factor as well, and that is not mandatory in the header. Nobody once needed my city or state and I sold multiple hundreds of items overseas.

True, true...
-
I totally get the point for items that are potentially a pickup item though.
-
Still, point is...Noobs gettin' lazy yo! :whap

Word. :afro:

Yeah.
There are some things to be loose about, and some things not. Subject line should be complete and updated. Period.

omg as a relative noob, I think I've just been totally scared off ever using the b/s/t thread in case I do something wrong ! ;)

Even though Canada is a next door neighbor of the US it is critical to know it comes from the US or Canada as the shipping is no comparison. Canada to Canada when buying is at least 3 times the US to Canada price. I would rather buy from someone in the US than Canada where I live any day of the week. So cross boarder shipping is critical to KNOW.
-
I dont think you can mail a noob to Canada, There might be some kinda law. :embarassed:
-
But at least postage would be cheap if you can get the noob into a USP pre determined box.

I love the bump of a thread thats like 5 or 6 years old asking if the item is still available.
