Title: FS: Two player racing cab in TX, parts or whole
Post by: notaburger on November 11, 2003, 11:53:08 pm
howdy
i'm looking to get rid of this cisco heat cab i have
it's 2 player
one monitor has a minor contrast problem, sadly, i haven't even really tried just messing with the contrast knob, but the other one is fine
there is a little body damage, nothing really extreme
the lights on top (police lights) still work great
i took out the 5 ohm pot on one of the steering wheels in order to test it out on a playstation and on the computer (i replaced it with a 100 ohm pot)
and i lost the old one
i'm sure if you look for one you can pick one up for 3 bucks or so, that's how much the 100 ohm one cost
a few of the buttons microswitches are worn out, don't have any extras to throw in there but everyone knows that those are cheap
i'd hate to part it out, but if that's all i get, i may be willing to do that
i'll be sure and post pictures here tomorrow if anyone is interrested
i'm looking for around 500 or i can take some off for a trade, i'm lookin for a 25" cab, gutted or not
seeing as the monitors are fine, the game works and the cab isn't in bad shape, i don't see why not
later

*note, i just checked on radioshack.com and they have the 5k ohm pots that it needs for less like 2.79

haha yes, quite a profit
it's not my fault they didn't know how to plug it in properly
 ::)
i sadly don't get around here as much as i used to, but i'm hoping to actually maybe do some good for a change and make a website that explains how to hack a psx pad to a steering wheel (almost not needed with the star wars yoke page, but maybe i can add a little light to make it even easier)
anywho
to answer the question above, i live bryan/college station (i'm an aggie, whoop)
and i went home and looked at it some more and i'm thinking that 500 may be too much, it's missing one horn button also and one of the seats needs some apolstry work (i.o.w. duct tape)
i'm really looking for more of a trade (maybe with some money too depending on what's on the block) centipede is the only game that i'm singling out that i want, but i'm open to almost anything
but hey, i won't turn down cash  :P
i just don't have the proper time that this project deserves, i have done a little research and tinkering with the steering though, and i'd be glad to throw in a playstation 2 dual shock that has been hacked into one of the steering wheels (if not interrested, i'll just take it out)
if no one is interrested around here i'll hit up ebay
if bryan/c.s. is too far, i'm going to arlington/dfw area for thanksgiving and christmas
i'd may even be willing to deliver (assuming you wouldn't want to look at it first)
maybe my internet will be working when i get home so i can upload pictures

here's a couple pictures of it
i do have all the pieces, i'm just too lazy to put it back together unless someone wants it :-D
i'm asking 400 for it, and i'll deliver it for free if you're within 50 miles of college station or alrington (or anywhere on 35 for that matter)
