Title: Extron RGB 201 Rxi with GroovyUME
Post by: Paradroid on May 20, 2013, 06:24:19 am
I realise that a device like this could possibly complicate the initial setting up of GroovyUME but, wow, it's so damn cool!

Setup your monitor with GroovyMAME, get your monitor specs right. Then, sort out how you're going to change the vertical frame size for 256 vs 240 line games. Then, patch in the Extron to get perfect horizontal centering with an easy twist of a knob.

Check it out here (http://scarthunter.blogspot.com.au/)!

Hi Paradroid,

This device definitely looks like an excellent complement for GroovyMAME on SCART TVs, specially those Sony Tinitron tellies that misbehave so badly with vertical centering but are so damn good on any other aspect. I gather that the only possibility to get one is second hand market.

Thanks for posting this.

Could this be used instead of an UMSA - Ultimate SCART Adapter? If so what sort of cables would be required to connect up to a Sony Trinitron TV. Would it require an external sync stripper in the chain or does this unit handle that also?
