Title: Question about pushbuttons
Post by: echohead on May 18, 2013, 10:01:08 am
Hello,

I'm building an mame cabinet, and for the pushbuttons, I bought them online and they look like this:

I'm having trouble figuring out how to connect them do the i-pac.

This kind of microswitch doesn't have/need ground wire right?
And where do I connect the switch wire?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard, Echohead.

For buttons/switches with two contacts, connect one (Common or Com) to the daisy-chain ground and the other (Normally Open or NO) to the encoder input.

It doesn't make a difference which contact is which -- press the button and the terminals make contact, release the button and the terminals lose contact.

For buttons with three contacts, there is also a Normally Closed (NC) that is usually not used.
