Title: Arcadevga 3000 no video on Wells Garnder 25" K7000
Post by: coitusmysterioso on May 16, 2013, 09:44:16 pm
Good evening everyone.

I am in the middle of setting up a MAME cab and have run into an issue with my monitor setup.

My video/PC Setup

The problem I am having is this. If I boot the system without a PC Monitor connected I see the boot screens and loading windows screens on the arcade monitor. Once windows loads the screen goes black like the video card stops outputting to the VGA port.

When I go to the display setup and try to extend the desktop the system resets both displays and both screens flash but nothing comes up on the arcade monitor and the extend desktop checkbox goes back to unchecked. I have tried many different resolutions and nothing seems to work. Its like the card stops outputting a video signal on the VGA once windows loads and nothing I am doing is working.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Good evening everyone.

I am in the middle of setting up a MAME cab and have run into an issue with my monitor setup.

My video/PC Setup

  • Windows XP Pro SP3 (Fresh Install)
  • Arcadevga 3000 (VGA Port on top)
  • Arcadevga VGA Breakout Cable
  • Arcadevga drivers installed

The problem I am having is this. If I boot the system without a PC Monitor connected I see the boot screens and loading windows screens on the arcade monitor. Once windows loads the screen goes black like the video card stops outputting to the VGA port.

When I go to the display setup and try to extend the desktop the system resets both displays and both screens flash but nothing comes up on the arcade monitor and the extend desktop checkbox goes back to unchecked. Any help would be much appreciated.

I've had the same exact issue. Mine seems to happen once I load the drivers.

No, I've done that. What seems  to happen is that it boots fine, I see the bios screen and then the WindowsXP x64 screen, then it stays black. I have force reboot it, sometimes I have to load it using the last known configuration. Once it comes up, I get a "This system has recoved from a error" white message box.

my enter key isnt working

I asked for a reason can you please provide i am a software engineer i create drivers for a living.

Sounds like the API is stopping for whatever reason.

First we would be looking at hardware /chipset incompatibility.

Then driver conflicts in the event manager.

Then the slot itself.

and firstly test the unit in safe mode is it working does it work as expected on another computer.

Computers are a process of elimination, its easy enough to say you have done it all but i do not know what you have done, and what i am posting it not just for you but the op aswell.

Please list the steps you both have completed so i and others can provide you with useful support.
