No, I haven't seen it done, but would like to put the idea out there.
I've noticed the price dropping on CRT Need for Speed cabs lately and saw a NASCAR cab with 32" LCD sell for around 2 grand recently.

It's a lot of money and I'm not a fan of the style of the cab, but these games contain the USB immersion PCB that interfaces with a standard Windows PC.
People have successfully used that PCB to interface their Happ ffb setups and ECCI uses it for their wheels.
So it should be pretty much plug and play. Install the immersion drivers on your PC and drop the PC into the cab...done.
Only downside is that this particular game had the sequential shifter instead of the six speed.
Not sure about the monitor resolution, etc.
I haven't done all the research, just noticed a good price on the NFS GT and put the idea out there.
You could sell the PC and security dongle currently in the machine and recoup a little.

Apparently Need For Speed GT doesn't use the Immersion board. :-[
It uses a "Nytric" I/O USB interface. Even though it has a PCI connection, it still connects via USB.

Anyone have any information on this or know if Windows drivers exist?
I'm tempted to buy it just to play with, but I've already spent too much on projects this month.

There shouldn't be any OS-specific issues. Despite what Microsoft might tell you there isn't a whole lot of difference between XP and XPE... that's why the TypeX games got hacked so easily. ;) The only question is are we talking 32 or 64 bit because most people will be running 64bit at this point and you might run into issues there.

I can supply the wheel, and feedback board if someone wants to do the Dev. I also have a hard disc and Install image
