Title: minipac/ipac causing CTRL to be stuck
Post by: chucklepie on May 11, 2013, 06:39:08 pm
Hello,
Using a normal keyboard all is well and Windows 7 works just fine. When I plug in my minipac after a short while CTRL is being permanently held down (whether another keyboard is plugged in or minipac by itself). I've even removed the switch connected to CTRL and it fails. This has nothing to do with sticky keys, etc it only happens when minipac is plugged in - and with no buttons wired to CTRL.

Any ideas? I thought it was due to having keyboard plugged in at same time, but it's not.

Thanks.

Have you tried a different keyboard?

I've just started using it without a keyboard and mouse, i.e. just my minipac with trackball and it's still doing it. It's getting me so annoyed :(

Another thing is the winipac software for configuring things does not think CTRL is pressed, i.e. it is only Windows 7 that has CTRL pressed down.

It's got to be either the minipac or the driver (given there is no driver installed it must be the minipac?).

After more fruitless hours I determined the fault was when I configured the minipac to support mouse button presses.

Contacting Ultimarc he tells me there is a fault with some minipacs dated before January (I only bought mine last month - but from another retailer so might have been there a while) with mouse button.

After a painful time taking my cabinet and CP apart again I flashed it and hopefully all is well now. Though it would be nice if the winipac software showed the firmware version in the application.

Hope this helps anyone. Here's the link.
