Looking for some ideas on how to store the lumber and leftovers that I have in the garage. Right now, they're all leaning in a pile against the wall, but I'd like to get all my 2x4 sheet stock and leftover cuts and smaller pieces that I have.
Anyone have a lumber cart, or an otherwise space saving wood storage idea? And, no tighty wighties don't apply.

Rafters?
Build a single shelf high up for storage. Brace properly. (I have this setup)
Lean as vertical as you can against wall, with 2x4's to keep good wood from contacting cement.
Just ideas. I'm a logger, not a lumber pro. I have no idea what is optimum storage. But I would do things to try and prevent warping and dampness. I'd post a picture of your garage. If you want, I can post a picture of my shelves.

Flat otherwise it always seems to bow overtime.

I've been meaning to build one like this....

Yeah...I think I'm going to build a smaller one. Here's the garage:
The "bike" side..where all the wheeled vehicles go:

Here's the "workshop" side:

Here's "the pile". Those 10' 2x6es were left by the contractor that did the basement wall delete. I think I'm going to use those to build a cart:

Here's a pic from just outside the garage door of my work area:

I just replaced all of the old wood shelving with wire shelves that we pulled out of the basement. I think my cart will be OK if it can handle 2'x4' sheet goods since I usually have home depot rip them to size for me anyway so I can get them home.

I love this.

Why does this remind me of hauling wood....?
Yeah, a cart, particularly that one posted by sandheaver, seems a good idea.

I found this one tonight. I like the idea of having a place for my saw, too. But, I think it'd bee too big for what I need:

I like that one. At a minimum the shelf to the left of the saw is cool.
This one is similar to what Spoot posted. There is a fun video showing how to make it.

Ah, that guy's videos are generally pretty decent. Uses affordable tools and generally has some humor thrown in.

Well ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, none of these is super fancy. I'm sure you could've thought of any number of similar designs.
