TigerDirect has dropped the BareBone PC's that they had in the $90.00 to $120.00 price range.
Does anyone know of a another source for an assembled (case, power supply, mobo, cpu, fan) PC in that price range?
I only need it to be in the 800mhz to 1.2ghz range.

It's really not the question of speed... It's how much do you wan't to spend. :)
Computer prices are always changing. You would probably pay more for an older chip that is not produced anymore than if you would say, pay for an 1800+ AMD...

I would just hang around pricewatch.com until I saw somthing I liked... or just go to newegg when they have some refurbs (mobo, video, case, etc...).

i've ordered two barebones specials from unicom-pc.com. one for myself and one for a friend. right now they have a amd1800+ with integrated 256mb ddr ram, case, integrated sound, video, modem, network for $160. the owner bruce will also assemble it for you on request for no extra charge although it will take a few extra days. the pc seems good for mame on the limited time i used it. all your really need extra for that first pc is a hard drive and i'd go with dvd drive as mame on cdrw takes up a lot of cds. also a keyboard, mouse, and floppy if you need. i'd be leary of newegg motherboard refurbs but that's just me.

If I had ordered last week, I could have gotten what I need for about $100.00. Now that deal is gone.
I already have a completed cab. So I don't need drives, mice, keyboards or monitor.
I could get just a mobo and cpu, but that increases the chances that I will screw it up. I would rather have it assembled and tested.
I have been looking at pricewatch and newegg, but I can't find a comparable deal.
I don't know if it is just me or what, but I find newegg's site a little confusing.
I was complete shocked when I saw the details on this 139.00 package through pricewatch.

also something to watch for on pricewatch is the skimpy power supplies that come with the barebones pcs. i've seen some advertisements maybe 3 months ago on the site for amd xp bundles with a sub 200 watt powersupply. not sure how it even boots up.

I got my system here, they have some pretty good deals! They even have a 21inch monitor or something like $69.

Configure-a-system. Great prices. The power supply is the only thing you can downgrade for a price decrease when the default page loads.

Deathmonk,
I was looking at that system yesterday, Thanks for the link.
creatine28,
Those are some good monitor prices, thanks.
