Title: Let's get this thing going!
Post by: Arcade Rabbit on April 26, 2013, 12:45:03 pm
Okay, I'm setting up my Mala. And I've set up the mame emulator and rom path. But when the game loads the list it shows a bunch of titles I do not have. How do I fix it so that only the games I have shows up?

Usually, you just have to right click anywhere in mala and select "Refresh Main Game list"

That should do the trick.

Hm, I refreshed the list, but it still is the same way.

You might be looking at some other list than the main game list. Look in your mala folder for MLG files that were modified today.

You might have selected a different mlg from the All games, in which case you could just scrap it and readd the games you want.

Alternately, you might check out ROMLISTER. It can build MLG files based on search criteria.

You have to select 'show only roms you have'. Kinda weird that isn't the default, yet MAMEUI, etc default to the same 'All Games' list. The saving grace there is they have an 'Available Games' right below that.

Cheers for the help guys, finaly got it up and running correctly!  :applaud: However the games runs about half the speed they normaly do =/ Guessing my computer is not up for it. It's about 7 years old, hehe. Hm, is there any other frontend that is not as demanding but with a customization feature that you could recommend?

Once a game is loaded, mala really doesn't take up any processor time, so the front end shouldn't be causing any slowdown like that. Maybe you're loading the games slightly differently in mala than externally? Mala does have the option to add command line switches to the game when it's run.

Haha, it's a whole science to get it up and running  :lol
Where can I find the option for the line switches?
