Hey all,
I'm working on my second multicade machine and am thinking about using a laptop. However, the way I have my first machine, the computer powers on simply by being plugged in. Is there a way to edit the bIOS of my laptop in order to make it so that the laptop will turn on as soon as a power source is present? Or is that simply not possible?
The reason I'm asking is because I'd like to not have to press the power button on the laptop in order for the machine to work. I'd like it to be all one plug/switch/electric crank.

I have a desktop running on my arcade and I have modified my power switch with a button on the back of my arcade that powers it on and off. If you want to tear apart your laptop and extend the power wiring, you could easily install the power button somewhere on the cabinet using any type of momentary switch. I do not think there is a way for a laptop to be on automatically when power is supplied. You could leave your laptop plugged in constantly and simply power your arcade on and off with the one button.

See, that was the second option I had considered. I like the laptop option because a) it's just sitting around collecting dust. b) its more powerful than the desktops I have sitting around. c) its small, and this is a cherry master-esque arcade.
