Greetings all,
I've been lurking for a while as I stumble through this and I think I'm ready. I'm going to build an Ultimate Arcade II. The theme is going to be Aliens / Space and the colors are Green with Metallic Black (inspiration Gamester on the black).
I'm still a little foggy on console design in terms of what I need etc so I'm opening it up to the people with experience.
First the Console

The background is similar to the Neon Mame and I've seen a lot of people copy it so I was thinking of something different. Please look at just the concept for the graphics, I still need to do a lot of work in terms of making them presentable.
As for the layout I'll start from the bottom...
P1 and P2
8 way joystick - not sure what I should get, I'm leaning towards the Ultra 360? Thoughts?
7 button config - lit green but I'm not sure if I want electric ice or the Nova Gem. Can anyone give me feedback on brightness? I heard that the Nova Gems could be distracting.
Trackball will be the Electric Ice
Just above to the left and right I'm going to have track ball / mouse buttons. Yes I know why four? I'm a symmetrical nut but I'll take other ideas

Spinner - thinking of the Turbo Twist
4 way Joystick - Help here please I have no clue
Two associated buttons
Game Reset
Game Shutdown
