hey guys,
now that i got my machine at about 90% after he upgrade to mala, i decided to start playing some games. i notice in daphne that some games have no audio other than a beep or boop (dragons lair) while other games have the full audio playing (space ace, dragons lair 2).
any suggestions as to what might be happening? fwiw, audio was fine under mamewah and i'm using the same command line.

Dude, I swear, you have the most and the weirdest issues.

tell me about it! years into this hobby I'd like to think I know what I'm doing and then something like this happens. I'm cursed.

Not that I have a clear answer for you, but I thought I'd chime in anyway...
I haven't had that problem with Daphne. The audio is embedded into the mpeg files if I'm not mistaken. Check the setup in Daphne to make sure the audio isn't supressed anyway for the game(s) that don't have sound. That's the only think I can think of to offer as a solution. Since Space Ace and others work (sound) then it's probably not an operating system issue. :dunno

I'm thinking the command line arguments might be peculiar to MAMEWah. Try from scratch.

Daphne audio is not embedded into the MPEG. It is a separate OGG file. If it is working for some and not others, then check the LOG file to see if Daphne decided to turn it off.

Southpaw13 is right on the sound. My bad. I forgot about the ogg files.

Which again suggests the command line arguments. Obviously in some cases Mala is handling things weirdly or more complicated than straight command line, so why not in this case?
