Hi
This is something that really bugs me, that people change the Topic subject. Is it just me, or what is the general opinion?
Don't take it seriously but it would be fun to know what people think.
Maybe there is a thread about it already, but since the topic subject has changed I can't find it ::)
-
Subscribe to those topics. Problem solved.
-
Yeah, just subscribe, or bookmark the thread your interested in.
or post to the thread yourself with something that you will easily remember so finding it later will be easy.
-
Changing entire subject line - annoyingly bad.
Changing the end of the subject line to highlight new progress - good.

BadMouth speaks the truth.

I second Badmouth also in his comment that adding current status in the end might be good.
But there has been a couple of topics lately were the subject have been updated to something like "Never mind" or "I found it" etc., which doesn't make any sense for people that are browsing the forum later on. How could we possible know the initial request or question, that might be good for reference in the future.

On Project Threads I really appreciate it when people put an update in their title. I actually find not updating it annoying.
-
Oddly enough I made a post right before I read this and had changed the subject line for the first time in my life in any forum.... although I just added 'my frustration' to the end of it.
-
I think the subject should stay the same, for all threads except those in the Buy/Sell/Trade section.
-
I find that it depends on the subject. A problem or question where SOLVED is added to the subject is useful as are Updated and date on a project thread.

Or adding [SOLD] to B/S/T items where applicable.

While we're at it, I am not a fan of "Mods, please delete" as a subject title. You see it occasionally on double posts or in BST.
1)The mods never comply
B)This is evidenced by th - Squirrel!

I completely agree with this. I see this from time to time, and it is annoying. In addition I see this done to individual posts as well.

Never bothered me much.

I've heard Jim is more of a fan of pork...

It annoys me they aren't deleted.
Ultimately, it's a toss-up whether a poster has the writing comprehension to alter a post or thread. When they do, I have great enjoyment.

If the title is changed to something more relevant to the contents of the post then I think that's ok, just my 2cents 8)
