Title: Time Crisis
Post by: TehRawrz on April 08, 2013, 10:18:42 pm
I want to create a Time Crisis themed arcade cabinet. Well I've had this idea in mind for many years, but I've finally got the funds and most of the knowledge to complete it. I don't want to use any of the awful barrage of knock off light guns and pedals. I miss time crisis, so therefore i am going to use actual time crisis parts. The only issue i'm not completely sure of how to do is hooking up the recoil, but I'll cross that path when I get to it. I have a design in mind that will fit where i would like it to. The next step i guess is designing the control panel and then onto the guns. I'm thinking maybe 7 buttons per player, pinball buttons, and then 3 admin buttons.

EDIT:Guns are first priority over control panel. I'm thinking of using an aimtrack and this schematic to drive the recoil.

I would like to suggest that for the first picture where you show the red area for the rest of the arcade parts, that you allow for a buffer around the cabinet side. Usually you cut about an inch or so from the real cut line with a jig saw, and the from there you make the real cuts on those lines.

If you buy your lumber based on cuts that don't allow for a buffer you will likely miscalculate and have to make a second trip to the lumber yard/store.
