Title: slot cutter is the correct one?
Post by: DHTech on April 05, 2013, 03:45:40 pm
Hi Guys
Would somebody be kind enough to check that this is the correct slot cutter for 3/4 t moulding before I place the order http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002TUCRA/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002TUCRA/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER)

This is only £17.88 from Amazon delivered to the UK, if I buy from supplier here in the UK it's £28

Thanks
Jeremy (DHTech)

Should be the one you need as long as your molding has the 3\32 inch spline -- As referenced in the first product review :

This router bit was just what I needed for making my stand-up arcade, and routing out the edge groove for my T-molding. Great price, and much cheaper than the local home fixit store.

and from Game Molding.coms description of the one they sell that has the same 1\16th inch Kerf size ( they sell the blade and the arbor seperately and the cost is a bit higher) :

WHITESIDE MACHINE 6700A CARBIDE-TIP 3-WING SLOTTER

Requires a slot cutting arbor which can be found in the "T-Molding Tools" section
    1-7/8 DIA X 5/16' BORE X 1/16 (.062) KERF
Use with molding that has a 3/32" wide spine

That one would work, but if your router can handle 1/2" shanks I'd go with this one:
