Title: Spinner Game List (0.136 preferably)?
Post by: Necro on April 04, 2013, 11:54:43 am
Does anyone by chance have a list of games that use a spinner in MAME?  (0.136 preferably)

Rom lister is giving me a list, and so it GameEx, but there is definitely stuff missing (Warlords doesn't come up, for example).  I'm willing to make a list manually using custom folders/etc. in MAMEUI32, but just need a list to work from...since MAWS is gone, it's not easy.  KLOV potentially works, but I need to manually check each game to see if it really used one, and there are a ton of potential options for games w/spinners. (e.g., rotary, rotary plus 8 way, etc.)

If only some website had a wiki that contained such information......

Some of that list seems incorrect and possibly out of date.

For example,  it lists  720   as a conventional spinner.   720 is the furthest thing from a conventional spinner   heh

Im not sure, but I think Revenge of Doh had an unusual spinner assembly as well.  I think one paddle game used a
spinner that actually had amount, that could slide towards or away from the monitor.  (sliding horizontally, rather than the more
well known  vertical push / pull   designs )

Forgotten Worlds should be listed as a   Firebutton Spinner.   As the spinner doubles as a pushbutton to fire the guns.

If you're going to make a snarky reply, you should at least be aware of what you're linking to...and making sure it's right.  That hasn't been updated since 2009, excluding one minor update in 2010 to add one game, and as Xiaou pointed out many games on the list are a bit wrong.  Also, it's missing a number of games that I've already identified from other lists or that do come up in ROMLister as spinner games.
