anybody bought from this site http://na.suzohapp.com/joysticks/50608300.htm (http://na.suzohapp.com/joysticks/50608300.htm) is it safe? I have read alot of positive things about this joystick
-
SuzoHapp happ is safe to purchase from but not the cheapest.
Divemaster (on the forums here) carries happ parts in his web store or you may find them on ebay
-
thanks I will check him out first
-
I have just checked his online store, and he don't seem to have Happ perfect 360 joystick. The joysticks that he did have like Ultimate Joystick and Competition Joystick was considerable cheaper than suzoHapp

Is that the same joystick?
-
That's not an actual happ p360 but its similar in operation I guess.
Not sure if it any good or not

Divemaster carries most of the Happ and Ultimarc lines.
Drop him a PM or e-mail, he may have some in stock.

Just a side note on purchasing from happ.
It's not just that their prices per part are higher but if you don't buy a minimum, there is surcharge (though two of those sticks will hit the minimum) and they have some crazy shipping charges that don't show up until after the order is placed.
-
thanks for the response, will drop Divemaster a pm.

what positive things you heard about this?
happ p360 is kinda retarded. they have diagonal issues and the spring is wayyyyy too stiff for most users. not worth $86 I can tell you that. just go with happ super joysticks instead. or random japanese sticks if you are a "serious fighting game player".

I read that it was very silent and the best on 8-way. The review that I read said it was very smooth and the best 8-way. Happ super get lower score on diagonal. Look at this attachment:

I have perfect 360s that I put 4" Wico handles on and they are literally the best stick I ever used.
Most vendors can be happ's direct prices because they are buying from happ at a significant discount to what the public pays. Happ doesn't really want to sell you $150 worth of parts, it wants to sell distributors and resellers $8000 worth of parts at a time.
-
I read....
think
not read
Without mod this stick is unplayable, diagonal act how on no-true 4way stick
it is not silent- silent stick not exist
-
well you heard wrong. trust me you dont want this junk.
and there was a massive crap storm on srk forums about defective p360 sticks. like the pcb was bad or some other crap I was reading about. personally i NEVER liked it. it always hurt my wrist. I say "always" because the cvs2 cabinet in chinatownfair arcade had the happ p360 so I had to use it.
on the other hand wico360 is the best I ever used. but they dont exist anymore. this is the REAL "perfect" stick.

or you can get the sanwa flash stick if you want "silent" or whatever. but you gotta be able to use japanese sticks. some people simply cant(I had trouble for like a week but I got used to it)

ok I beginning to get the hint, but what are the Japanese sticks everybody is talking about. Can somebody link me to the best Japanese stick

Love my p360s with or without wico handles :D

As far as Silent Japanese sticks, the Sanwas are great but they are far from silent.
The flash is an optical board that can be installed in a Sanwa JLF.
Keep in mind that the jlf doesn't have the same mounting pattern as the happ sticks.
I use a Sanwa JLW with a round restictor and cherry switches from a happ super and I'm very happy with it and its fairly quiet and smooth
I think the big question is what are you used to playing with and what will be the primary use of the stick (fighters, classic, etc)
have you considered U360s from Ultimarc?

I have a magstick plus from Ultimarc which I think is too stiff and clicky. It is a good joystick but I feel my playing can be better with a smoother stick
-
magstiks and u360s are very different sticks.

Over last weekend, I played on a Robotron with 3"shafted leafs, and not-to-firm centering grommet, that makes me take back my 'I hate leaf-switched sticks' statement. I was making some NIN-JA-like movements with them. Most of the time.
That said, I'm still hard-pressed to give up my P360s. They are somewhat modified, along the lines of kowal's ideas though before I came to his info site, and have less travel and register sooner than stock. Not as soon as I'd like, and yes the spring is a little tough. If I could get the U360 set up well enough, I'd replace the P360 with it so I could get the middle stick out of the way and all.
Of course, I've bought my P360s for no more than $32 a piece on ebay. And on that note, damn that's a cool - and un-surprisingly un-HAPP idea'd - design kowal linked. And priced right. Those are Comp bases, though, right? I'd have to seriously mod them to tone down the wild-ass throw....which means a thicker actuator at the bottom to make up the distance.
